I grew up in a family that went to church out
of tradition. We were very involved in Sunday school, vacation Bible school,
and other church activities but it never impacted our lives in other areas.
When I was around the age of eight my parents got saved. Two years later we
started attending a Christian retreat in Pennsylvania. It was there, at the age
of ten, that I gave my heart to the Lord. During that week I began to
understand what Jesus had done for me and the importance of having a
relationship with Him. I was baptized the same week and have been following the
Lord ever since.
I
am continuing to learn more about God every day. This year I have really been
learning what it means to truly trust the Lord in everything. There have been
some situations that have happened where I really could no longer be in control
and had to surrender everything to the Lord and let Him take care of it.
Although these times are very painful, they are also very freeing in that I no
longer have to carry around a burden but can give it over to God. The Lord is
always faithful and I praise Him every day for what He is doing in my life!
